San Fairy Ann Senior Off-Road Champs 2009
This year I will be running the San Fairy Ann Off-Road Champs like I have for the past 2 years at the same venue as the cyclocross "Reed Court Farm Chainhurst" It will be on Saturday 10th October with Start at 2pm for the Juniors Race and 2.30pm for the seniors Race entry is free to all first claim members £3 for non members registration is from 1pm - 2pm it will be a 30 minute race plus 1 lap. Trophy for the winner medals for second and third .As this is for Mountain bikes I will not allow any starters on Cyclocross bikes.

Junior Off-Road Champs 2009
Our juniors race will be open for all under 16's it will run like last year with a handicap system so the youngest will start first. There is a Trophy for the winner and a Medal for all finishers. There is no entry fee and it is open to anyone under 16.

I am also on the lookout for a few Marshals and a Medic. If you could help I would be grateful.

Hope to see as many of you as possible on the 10th October any queries please feel free to phone me on 01622 812109.

Okai, I'm confused (doesn't take a lot i know but...) I thought Junior was under 18 and maybe because I was 15 at the start of the season does I still qualify for junior (under 16) or do I enter the ladies one (if it even exists)?
Because you know you realli want to let my ride with the littiler people and I've only been on the mountain bike for approx. 8.5 hours.... :D :D :D
And I really won't be able to ride with the men because they ride really scarily fast.
And none of what I just sed really makes any sense, but I know wot I mean :D

Jodie, I think that you are right to be confused because I am as well. Mountain biking seems to have slightly different categories to road and track. From what I can see British Cycling uses juvenile (12 - 14), youth (15 - 16) and junior (17 - 18) - with the usual moving between categories only at the end of the calendar year. I assumewe have different definitions for this club event (and allow under 12s to ride) - I'm sure Martyn will clarify .

Lets clarify this

The Club off-road Champs 2009 is run to our own rules.

For the Juniors (under16) I will be applying a Handicap system. Although this does tend to favour the younger riders. The youngest rider goes first then 1 minute for every year older ie if our youngest rider is 7 an 8 year old will start 1 minute behind. A 10 year old will start 3 minutes behind. For females I will take two years off the age IE a 10 year old female will start with the 8 year old males.

So Jody you are 15 you will start with the 13 year olds and should we have a 6 year old turn up you will start 7 minutes behind them. Can you catch a 6 year old over 2 laps of the course ??

Just to let you Know if the race had been 200 meters longer last year Nick Cloke would have finished 2nd not 4th It was quite close at the finish.

On the Subject of Juniors. If Michael Barnes thinks He's riding in the junior race he can think again Ive seen his time for the KCA 25 and he can start with the Hard Men in the Main Event.
