Saturday 19th Sept. A Run

Postby simoncharlesworth on Fri Sep 18, 2009 6:40 pm

I am happy to lead a route over towards Forest Row (flattish) back over Ashdown ( up the infamous 'Wall') stop in Marks Cross (45miles) then 15miles back to Marden.
Weather looks good 22*C.
Any takers????

Simon - where did you go? I'm sure you wouldn't have had to buy the beers! :D

And besides, I wanted to thank you for a brilliant ride today - I will certainly have to try 'that' hill again some time  Distance was perfect, especially given the hillyness. Now I've just got to come up with something equally good... :P

Thanks to everyone else out today as well for making it an "enjoyable" (I think that's the right word!) day in the saddle 8)

Hi , thanks one of the nicest days out this year -some lovely views over Sussex
Yes i sneaked off after 'posting' Phill onto the right lane to Sevenoaks!!!!!!!!! I told Nicky and Paul that i was peeling off-thats the problem with any route south of Marden it goes past my house. Too hard to resist the sanctuary after a tough ride and leave you guys to lead out the train into Marden- and i had only £2.10 left from my pocket money so there was no way i could afford the beers! which were on the cards the way my legs were feeling.
Hopefully we can develop a pattern to the rides that keeps everyone happy-good to see everyone suffering a bit and still keeping together. It is nice to stop for a short while to catch up on everyones news-we should aim for 30 mins to prevent that heavy feeling bolting one to the seat for the rest of the day.
Thanks Phill for keeping us on our toes and for helpful directions.
See you next week.
Simon
