I think cyclists are catching on to the fact that belonging to a club means you can get out of the house all day on a weekend, wear skin-tight lycra, stuff your face on cakes etc., and be so knackered when you get home you've actually got a real excuse not to wash the lawn, mow the kids or whatever else your other half might dream up?

:D
It is incredible, I'm sure when Sarah and I joined just over two and a half years ago we were members 273 & 274.

It's not so good when you marry a bikie as Ted & I both did!! You are both out all weekends, so to hell with cleaning, cooking & mowing the grass etc. when you are young. Seriously, its been a great life since I joined my first club 60 years ago last month & Ted joined his a year later, which led to us meeting eventually & ending up in Kent. Mind you, we didnt have lycra in our young racing days!!! I had a phone call from one of my old Essex club friends a day or so ago, & he said that they had 168 members in his club - he asked me to repeat it when I said we had 399!! I wonder if we are the biggest cycling club in the UK? Should someone ask Cycling Weakly?

Yes it is an amazing feat  Congratulations and long may it continue! The only problem is the rather daunting task of trying to learn the names of all the new faces - I have enough trouble remembering my own.
The car in front is a Toyota. The car behind is inevitably some git in a BMW doing their best to knock you off your bike...

I dont know who anyone is if they're not in lycra!

Saw Steve in trousers the other day, nearly asked who he was!! hehe (thank goodness hes in Crewe at the moment)

Congratulations on reaching 400 :D
I reject your reality and substitute my own....

Most of them are called Clive, and that includes the men!
