Surrey League Revolutions 5-day 2009

Postby DAVID SEAGER on Thu Aug 20, 2009 3:00 pm

Hi all
just thought i should let you know my plans to ride the Surrey league 5 day revolutions starting tomorrow, i rode this last year so should know better!!!
shame no other fairys are joining me once again but at least there will be some familiar faces from serrl events competing.
Each day covers around a hundred miles-as well as climbing some of the steepest hills in south east england,
Previous winners of the event have gone on to represent England & Ireland in World Championships, the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. Last year's 439 mile long race was won by Tom Southam with an overall time of 18hours 14minutes and 04seconds - an average speed of almost 25 mph!

I don't expect to do anything spectacular, i'll just be hanging in there aiming just to cross the finish line each day, i've not even cycled 100 miles since last years event though i have been racing most weekends so that hopefully be enough.
Wish me luck!! if i have any energy left at the end of the day i'll let you all know how i'm going and who's winning

Not sure those are words he's most likely to be thinking  :P , but, yes - Go Dave!! I wish I could join you, but no way I can get the time off work :( And I'd die as well.

Hope to see you soon mate and best of luck (I suppose I should ask, how did stage 1 go?)
The car in front is a Toyota. The car behind is inevitably some git in a BMW doing their best to knock you off your bike...
