The fast inters stopped here this weekend and being the 2nd or 3rd time i have to say its not great.
Beverages are mediocre service sporadic and food weak.
BUT we did meet up with an old Fairy from the past. When we wandered in he was sitting at a table on his own by the window gazing into space with a thick pair of slippers on despite the hot weather. He was pushing his breakfast or early lunch around the plate whilst muttering about a fast 10 he once did at Harrietsham.
We all got our drinks and sat outside-low and behold he joined us telling us about when he was younger and the shed full of old bikes he had -the best being a lightweight red and yellow number. We all listened attentively and then he asked if he could join the second half of our ride and Richard i think feeling sorry for the old guy said of course but only this once as the club insurance wouldn't be valid.
He got changed and brought out said red and yellow stead he hung onto the group up towards Goudhurst then one of the older riders said ' do you realise - thats Martyn Peal back there' -well we were speechless-but promised despite the less than excellent drinks we would call in from time to time to visit him. But what a coincidence!!!

I didn't think the coffee was that bad.

The full english was good value for money including drink under a fiver

Do I really look that old ????
I personally recommend the use of an approved cycle helmet when riding ones bike
