Southborough are promoting at Brands Hatch
BC event Youths start 18.10
E/1/2/3/4 handicap at 19.20
always a good race
3.50 for youths
10 quid for seniors
see you there?

Aaaaw :( There's no way I'll be able to get back from work in time for this  But seriously, for anyone else who might be able to get there - I recommend it! Was great fun last time we raced there and (I assume) without having to enter any league (like with SERRL) for those who might want to test out Road Racing...
The car in front is a Toyota. The car behind is inevitably some git in a BMW doing their best to knock you off your bike...

That sounds really good I just had a peek on the Southborough Wheelers website.

I will definitely be there. :D

Silly question (sorry) but how does a handicap race work?

The 4th cats set off, then a (eg 30 sec) gap then 3rds go, gap, etc.

Results are in.

I guess trying to work out the handicap for the starting positions must be a real challenge. Looking at the results for last night suggests that the handicap and track was in favour of the E/1/2 's.

It's generally the case that most of the lower category riders tend not to start too hard as they expect to get caught so want to be fresh for then. The last riders off all have to work hard to catch up.
