We had a good day out at Preston Park on Saturday, and the SFA colours were on show for the first time for ages. The low turnout was a bit disappointing, especially as Jodie's intention to ride never materialised. You can't say I hadn't tried to rally our troops, though! By the time the main event arrived - the 26-lap scratch race - Eric and Anthony had mastered the peculiarities of the track. Anthony, in true Bristow fashion - stirred things up from the start until a two-man break became seven. Vying to get the most-laps prize, Anthony was just edged out of that competition but worked hard to gain a lap on the field with his breakaway companions. In the meantime Eric made his presence felt at the head of the main bunch to assist his clubmate. Anthony just missed out on the medals, but gave a good account of himself. Both will have gained valuable experience from the meeting, and I had a good time making my voice heard from the trackside!

Pete
