New season.

New season.

Postby James Smith on Thu Sep 03, 2009 12:08 pm

Who's ready for the start of the new cyclo cross season?
I can't wait.
I have been traing hard on and off raod with rides around my local woods. lots of changes of speed to recreate the change of pace in a cross race. iv worked on my mounts, dismounts and of course running with the bike shoulderd. still can't bunny hop.
I'm hopping to be more competitive this year and i'm aiming for a top 20 placing. yer right.
Anybody wishing to join us regulars please come along. its fun, fast and furious, a chance to line up along side riders that race at national and world level. And the current national cyclo cross champion.
See you soon.

I like the enthusiasm James i hope some of it rubs off onto me.

I am looking forward to the season but i am lacking any race pace, so want to start getting into shape sharpish.

I am working in the morning of round 1, but expect to get there still.

For any new comers looking for equipment i think Nick at Senacre still has some Giant TCX frames at a very good price.

James,
can I ask that one of you sends me the results each week by email for the mag as I will be missing all the TT & RR results & I do not have time to extract them from the forum. Ian sends me the reports he sends in to the KM but I like to have any personal comments.

Good luck for the new season.

Sure Pat no problem.
your be fine Lee, just think last year was your rookie year and you ended it ranked in the top 40. in other words, a great season.
is Henry still up for it?

James it's great to here from you again and it sounds like your well up for the new season. Count me in as well. I've just rebuilt last years cross bike with a new bottom bracket, new headset, brake blocks and gear/brake cables. All this for under £70 from Nick at senacre cycles. I will be riding the Redbridge SERRL road race Saturday and then take on the first cross race of the season Sunday at Fowlmead. James if you would like a lift to this event just let me know, but don't expect any hints for the race. :D Phil

Hi James, Lee and Phil. Sarah and I are looking forward to the CX season - for the first time I might actually be able to ride some of them this side of Xmas (as I'm not wearing a sling!). Oops, done it now.

We're not able to do Rd 1 though as there is a 50 mile TT that morning and, although Sarah did both last year I think it took about 2 weeks to recover! I'm going to put the details up in a new thread.
