Also, bear in mind that every time a person clicks on the link, it increases the count by one. It's not 600 separate viewers.

I was just gonna say that Rob, but you'd think there might be a few more at least? :?

Personally, I would like to see a variable rota (as per emails that've been going round) of people leading rides of different distances/different routes/different types of ride (i.e. sometimes with no stop perhaps). This forum is, after all, the perfect base for keeping everyone (or at least 99% of A-run people) up to date on what to expect on the next ride. It just needs it's own thread with people checking up on it the thursday or friday before the ride. Only takes a couple of minutes after all...

As for leading rides myself, my main problem is that all the rides I can think of and/or want to lead are at least 80+ miles long!! :P But I'm guessing that most people aren't going to want a ride that! (Especially if they're riding to and from Marden). But if I warned people of what I intended, would it help?!! Otherwise I just think I could go off and do what I wanted, whilst making an open invitation to anyone who wanted to come along...

But I don't want to appear selfish here! It's just that there's a lot of conflicting needs...

Joe I think that's an amazing idea !!

So when are you going to commit yourself to leading a ride.

Shall we say this Saturday or how about next Saturday 26/09/09.

Putting a Rota together is a good idea. The club runs are run by volunteers without volunteers the club runs won't run. The more volunteers the better if everyone takes their turn it is better for all. If you only know one route thats fine. The second time you lead you go the opposite way round. This format of a long club run short stop and a quick 10 miles back to Marden is good. I can think of at least 10 cafe's within the 10 mile radius of Marden If the group stopped at the odd pub this could easily be doubled. Since my plea for leaders I have been rather dissapointed with the amount of Volunters comming forward. To put a successful rota together I do need more than 3 names.
I personally recommend the use of an approved cycle helmet when riding ones bike

I can think of a very nice one heading down towards Eastbourne, but again; over 80 miles. There's also the fact that my legs aren't up to that sort of thing currently!

So you have entered the 100 mile section of the KCA Reliability Trial on 25th October?

Hopefully you will have lots of company

Hmm, still got a couple of races yet - next weekend and the weekend after, but the one after that I will gladly put my name down for - as long as I can find a well-situated cafe! I'm out tomorrow; Simon has very kindly posted his plans to lead a ride tomorrow - hopefully we can keep the idea of advertising each weeks ride going (may take a bit of practice and persausion! )

I will log tomorrows ride into my Garmin for future reference anyway :P (Not that I want to blatently steal your routes Simon  )
