Hi all I just competed in the first cyclocross race of the season and it felt great. The race was held in dry and dusty conditions down at windy betteshager near deal. (Very un cyclocrossy conditions/ far to dry) HaHa. I got of to a great start and was in approx 10th-15th position until the unfortunate happened. (Puncher)Upon further inspection it was a pinch puncher this struck me after 30 minutes of racing. Never mind there always another race. Lee, James and Nicky all raced and were very close together throughout the race. Nicky finished 2nd lady, so a big well done to her. Can't wait until the next race in 2 weeks time. Phil........

Well done all that took part today-hard luck Phil!! you must invest in some spare wheels, no doubt you would have finished high up in the placings with a quick change.
i've got some old tyres you can have if you need them.
Would have been nice to watch the race but with a long ride back the thought of standing around up there wasn't too appealing.

Nice to see Dave Seager on the forum (do you have an email address Dave?) & I will await the usual report from Philip for the next Milestone as usual. Photos if possible.

Good luck next round.

As opposed to flying (literally) through the undergrowth where he can usually be found on a September weekend!! :P Hope you're not feeling too sore Dave! (How many miles did you clock up in the end by the way?)

And well done to all the cyclocrossists (technical term) who we saw at Betteshanger yesterday - all seemed extremely keen, and a great shame about the puncture Phil  Things can only get better as they say! Look forward to seeing the results pour in over winter :)
The car in front is a Toyota. The car behind is inevitably some git in a BMW doing their best to knock you off your bike...
