Unfortunately neither Sarah or I are going down to Fowlmead for this race now - I'm just getting over a bad cold, which I duly passed on to Sarah who is currently suffering from it.

She's well chuffed, as you can imagine.

Good luck and have fun to those that do go, let us know how you get on.

Full results to follow.

Henry and Joseph Peal competed in the u10 race with Joeseph taking the honours.

Myself, Steve Berry and Phil Webb rode the main race. Phil was going real well before a serious mechanical took him out, Steve looked very comfortable and steadily rode away from me to do well, I got round.

A very different course made for a good variation, the conditions were cool but not too windy, but the ground was very soft with a lot of recent rainfall, so the mud and puddles made for a testing slog with a much bike cleaning to be had by all.

Pat i will send a report over once full results posted.

Not sure if the bike cleaning took that long, I think I spent twice as long washing my jersey than I did racing (White and black mud don't really mix very well). As Lee says, the ground was very soft in places, which made it very hard work, and completely different to Chainhurst. Had a great laugh though, and the new bike performed pretty well. Sorry to hear Phil had yet another problem at Fowlmead, I didn't see him afterwards so not sure what the mechanical was.

Results are on London Cycle Sport website, link below. I came 31st, and Lee is shown as 43rd.

Phill was rather unlucky when his rear mech broke while running up the steps at the time he was in a very creditable 10th position.

Interestingly Mark Field was racing finished 17th and His brother Ian could not make it as he was In France representing Britain in the Third round of the cyclocross world cup where he finished a rather fine 32nd. Anyone wishing to see Ian race can do so at Mallory Park this weekend in the National Trophy series.

I personally recommend the use of an approved cycle helmet when riding ones bike

Just been looking at all the photos on the London Cycle Sport website, gutted I missed it. Course looked really muddy! Not sure your top will ever be white again Steve! Well done everyone.
