Here it is the ride you have been waiting for!

1069 meters climbing but also 981 m descent through beautiful countryside.

Stage 1 Walnut Tree Yalding to Linton Bull PH 7.6 miles 3 hills
Stage 2 Bull Linton to Kings Head Sutton Valence 9.3 miles 3 hills
Stage 3 Kings Head SV to White Horse Sandway 18.9 miles 5 hills

That's something for everyone BUT HERE IS THE CHALLENGE

THE FIRST CLUB RIDER TO COMPLETE AN END TO END AND BACK AGAIN IN UNDER 4.5 HOURS, WITHOUT DISMOUNTING ON ANY HILLS, WILL RECEIVE FROM ME A REALLY REALLY CHEAP BOTTLE OF BUBBLY THAT I HAD LEFT OVER FROM CHRISTMAS- NO EXPENSE SPARED.

ps I would have a go only I am a bit too busy. I have done Stage 3 to enjoy the views!

The route is on this link and I have put in waymark directions but I suggest you check with OS map before you go as there are some hidden junctions.

Best of luck

pps The Intermediates might like to try an end to end as a club run- Tim suggested it earlier. Our B group will see how long it takes to walk up Yalding Hill.

First reading
Stage 1- 7.6miles + Stage 2-9.3 + Stage 3-18.9 = 35.8 There & back = 71.6miles

IN 4.5 HOURS??? That bubbly is pretty safe.

Then the penny dropped - they are cumulative distances so it's "only" 37.8 miles. That still needs an 8.4 mph average speed.

By the way Clive, at point 227, Boughton Crossroads its down Church Hill - wouldn't want anyone going straight to Chart Hill and missing Wierton!

Ron - you are not suppose to analyse it, just ride it!!

First thing- you were right first time it is there and back 71.6 miles. I based it on our Sportive which is around 75 ish miles - I can do that in around 5 hours - and the standard Gold for the young and sprightly is 3 hrs 35 mins so 4.5 hrs should be dead easy- it's just that there are a few more hills!!

Secondly, point 226 takes you up Wierton from Peens Lane. I can't see the problem. Maybe we can discuss at great length on the run tomorrow. I am not inclined to change it again. It took me several hours last night to add a bit onto E Sutton Hill as I didn't want to deprive anyone!

Now get on that bike and start climbing!!javascript:emoticon('')
