downland cycles autumn sportive

downland cycles autumn sportive

Postby Jasongould on Fri Sep 04, 2009 9:23 pm

I have just entered the 100 mile autumn sportive from downland cycles in canterbury. It was a bit pricey at £22 but i rode their spring sportive back in April and it was well organised with plenty of food/drink.
It is an excellent route with some challenging climbs and takes place on Sun 8th November 2009.
There was plenty of other Fairies at the spring sportive so hopefully there will be a few more at this event.

Thanks for the heads up on the this. Hopefully people will have more luck in entering it online than I did.

Yes, the Spring one was great. The only downside was trying to find somewhere to park in Canterbury. If I remember rightly, the suggested car parks were extortionately expensive and required you to have several hands full of pound coins!. Nice route, but there were 2 or 3 killer hills in the last 30 miles.

I parked in one of the side streets about 5 minutes from the start. Local people told me it was fine on a sunday so suggest you do the same. The car parks as you say are a complete rip off.
