Hi All
Thinking of riding over to watch the Catford Hill climb with the wife.
Is anyone else going over, or even thinking of riding it ???

The Sunday Intermediates will be riding over there on 11th October. I discussed this with Eric yesterday and he will lead the ride over to Yorks Hill. This is a change to the ride listed in the Milestone - I will put a note in the club runs section as well.

The ride will leave from Marden station car park at 9am sharp - the event starts at 10:30.

This is event is worth going to see - there's a great atmosphere on the packed narrow steep hill. After watching how the hill should be ridden you have the added bonus of giving it a go yourself when the event is over.

If it's the 11th then isn't this the same morning as the VTTA 15 on Harrietsham? That's got a hill in it too

Yep, same day. There's also the Bec HC on White Lane, Titsey in the afternoon. Why don't you enter all three Damian?

Slightly OT; I just saw the BUSA (British University sports) hill climb entry details. They say mountain bikes and jump bikes are permitted, but brave. They then go on to say that unicycles are not permitted. Who even thought of trying to do a hill climb on a unicycle?

I'd pay good money to watch a downhill TT race on unicycles!

Question is , is any Fairy entering this hill climb ??
Be good to be able to cheer some one on.
Lastly as Dave Stocker said, its a great location with a good hands on feel, when the riders near the top of the single carriageway road, between the many cheering supporter.

Well done to Brian Wesson as the only fairy who rode today. Brian finished in a creditable 3:22.8 all ridden in the saddle, he's obviously been listening to Rob. The winner was Robert Gough, Chippenham and District Wheelers in 1:58.1.

Thank you to Eric for leading the ride out to the event today.

Oh, and it was good to be graced by a rare outing from Iannnn - the rumours that he is selling his TT bike appear to untrue as several protected species of spider have made their home on the frame.
