Well I agree it obviously makes sense to have the club run in a consistent (and easily accessible to most of us) place (Marden!), but it can't hurt to have the occasional change of scenery 8) Besides, Ditchling Beacon sounds like fun

You've got to assume that people riding the A-run are going to be pretty much the same suspects each week (give or take a few), so it will be fairly easy to keep up with what's happening/where next weeks is starting etc. Like Damien says, it would be nice to cut out some of the 'same old routes' and get straight into new territory once in a while. Though personally I quite like a nice through-and-off session along the Yalding flats (as long as I can just about hold in! )

And Phill, with your lack of hair, that's got to be an extra 100g saved - you should have no problem flying up the hills with such dedicated weight-saving techniques as that. How d'you think Pantani climbed so well? Drugs? No. It was his hair management skills. Sure, the beard slowed him on the descents, but was cunningly used as a wind-aid parachute device on the 'Windy Mountain'. This is true. I heard it once across the bar of a crowded pub from someone who knew the sister of the car mechanic of Marco Pantani's dog-trainer's wife's Doctor who had it on good word that the aforementioned was fact.

Actually, what am I saying? Based on your performance on Saturday, none of us really want you to be any faster up hill, down hill or on flat!! :P
The car in front is a Toyota. The car behind is inevitably some git in a BMW doing their best to knock you off your bike...
